STEPS DOWN AS NOP SUPPORT ADMIN
After nearly two and a half years as NOP's Support Admin, I have decided to step down from that position due to a possible conflict of interest. KFL Design's commercial shopping cart program, StaticCart, has been based on the NOP's core engine and there is where the possible conflict arises. During my tenure I have attempted to promote the Open Source Community and assist in the continued development of NOP's FreeJavaScript Shopping Cart. NOP Design has made no attempt to continue the development of its product and at this point I feel my time would be best spent on StaticCart and its continued development.
Randy Creighton of JRS Services has been appointed to the position of Support Admin, we wish him all the best in his endeavors.

CLIENT HELD HOSTAGE
CarbonlessUSA.com, a major player in the print industry, looks to KFL Design for application development.

The site, originally developed by NetVision Technologies, Inc. (www.nvt.net), was written in ColdFusion. Any changes that CarbonlessUSA wanted to make to their website was under complete control of NetVision, who charged for updates and modifications. NetVision controlled the ColdFusion, databases and all aspects of the website application, in short CarbonlessUSA was held hostage to old technology and techniques.

KFL Design, a leader in e-commerce solutions, designed an integrated application that would allow CarbonlessUSA.com to both own and control content and the application fully. Completely re-designing the website using modern Open-Source PHP, a much more user friendly language, and creating a new SQL database, enables the end user to make changes on their own. The complete re-write also incorporated modifications and changes that were requested in the application.

Hosting the CarbonlessUSA and the other sites owned by Total Printing Solutions, Inc by KFL Hosting was the finishing touch to this cost effective approach. "It is estimated the company will save over 80% in web-related costs over the next year." reported a delighted company vice-president. . "We have complete control. We no longer are forced to pay thousands of dollars for updates and modifications."

KFL Design's new logo and website was uploaded today. This new logo and design symbolises KFL Design as a global company. The services we offer are available to all through computer technology and communication.
The circles radiating out from the central part of our logo follow the curve of the earth and merge into the dot on the letter i, highlighted by the use of the colour white. The black stripe at the bottom of the design adds balance and acts as a frame for the services offered.
We would like to thank Sharron McDuncan-Bain, "Wolf Woman" for her talents in innovative and original designs for print, logos, corporate identity, packaging and multimedia.
